• Credit to Lea Scaddan, a Perth photographer for the reference pic that inspired this painting. Taken at Minilya north of Carnarvon, she was staying at the roadhouse and decided to go for a walk to stretch her legs after a long drive from Karratha. It was at the end of a hot February summers day when she noticed cattle walking towards the trough on a farming property near the roadhouse, one of very few places with water. All of a sudden hundreds of corellas and galahs arrived to have a drink. She ran back to her accommodation to grab her camera. The birds gathered around the trough for about an hour. Word has it the trough has since disintegrated. Lea was lucky to get the shot when she did.
