Shane Jansen van Rensburg is a fine artist, graphic designer and eLearning designer living in Mandurah. She was born in South Africa and relocated to Western Australia in 2011. She thrives when being creative, fascinated by the power of colour and light and intrigued by the textures created in her artwork. Choosing to paint landscapes and scenes of everyday life, her subject matter is of a relatable realism as she aims to evoke positive emotions in viewers.

Previously having a preference for chalk pastels, Shane took an interest in acrylic paints during her time as a secondary school art teacher and has since produced many artworks in the medium.

Since joining the Plein Air Down Under group of artists in 2021, Shane has embraced the challenge of painting out in the open and appreciates the freshness of the images captured.

Shane admires an impressionistic approach to painting and is working towards self-expression in this style as she continues to experiment and try out new techniques.
