• Normally a dull, arid landscape, Namaqualand becomes a natural wonderland between August and September (weather permitting, of course). The blooming wildflowers erupt into a sea of colour with flora species to be found nowhere else in the world. One of my few oil paintings at this stage, this piece sports loose and varying brush strokes as well as sgraffito textures in the flowers.
