• As part of my contribution to The Spirit of the Landscape Exhibition, this painting was inspired by a photo from Evie Ruys who lived in Derby for a period of time. This road is on the edge of the mud flats where she used to walk her dogs all the time. Evie fondly remembers the peaceful walks surrounded by flat planes as far as the eye can see. She would find strange things such as broken glass and even a tabletop, sparkling in the sun ... in the middle of nowhere.
